If you are already on an employer sponsored visa (such as a 457 visa) or are intending to apply for one, then further changes are coming this 1st of July to the Permanent Employer Sponsored visa subclasses (subclass 186 and 187) that you need to be aware of.

Please carefully read the following changes that will be coming into effect in couple of weeks time (on the 1st of July 2017):

• STSOL and MLTSSL changes: The STSOL is scheduled to be reviewed based on the advice from the Department of Employment for recommended changes. The MLTSSL will also be revised depending on the outcomes of the 2017-2018 review of the old SOL by the Department of Education and Training.
• Minimum English language requirement: IELTS scores of all 6's (in each component ie. reading, writing, speaking and listening) will now be required for all Employer Sponsored visa subclasses and streams. OET, TOEFL and Pearson test conversions of the equivalent score are also acceptable.
• New maximum age of 45 years of age will apply to "Direct Entry" streams (the old 50 years of age will still apply to "Temporary Residence Transitional" streams).
